Scottish Probationers Survey

Over 350 probationer teachers shared their experiences at the beginning of their careers:

• Only 3.6% reported securing a permanent or fixed-term post.

• Over 60% reported a lack of clear communication from councils about future employment.

• 73% felt unsupported by their local authority while trying to secure a job.

• Many described feelings of exhaustion, anxiety, and disillusionment with the system.
