Story 82

Age: 32

Teaching Experience: 2-4 years

Contract Type: Casual Supply (through calls, emails, teacherbooker etc)

After completing my probation year in 2022 I applied to be put on the East Dunbartonshire supply list. That in itself was a nightmare as there was no one working in the role of looking at applications between June and October of that year. I had to tweet the council as was the only way to get a reply from them.

I eventually got on the supply list the day before the October week break 2022. Fortunately my probation school hired me for supply on and off for a few months and I was fortunate to have had alot of work the past 2 years.

I have worked at least 1 day in every 10 so was on track to apply for permanency on 31st October 2024, however after summer there I had a 12 day break in service and now back to square one with barely any work since summer.

The school I worked in for 7months before summer have not contacted me since and I feel they were aware of my situation and were told to break my service.
